Fun and Funky Finds
FredFlare.com is an awesome Web site that sells everything from a desktop ping pong kit to a lacey party dress. Fred Flare has fun yet inexpensive items that brighten my day and many times have me wondering who in the heck would buy some of the items (pickle-shaped bandages anyone?!) I have found so many unique accessories for $2-$3! Check it out for great gift ideas!

The Perfect Purse
I have been searching for countless hours for the perfect purse. I have Googled every possible combination of words in hopes of finding this coveted item. I am looking for the black Marc by Marc Jacobs shoulder bag that would perfectly accent my evening attire. It drapes casually across one's chest, so my forgetful self would not leave it at the bar. It is just big enough to hold the essentials- phone, camera, credit card and lip gloss, but not too big to get in the way of my rocking dance moves. Several Marc shoppers have told me similar stories of exploring the Web for a specific bag, only to come out empty handed. Why does Mr. Jacobs make it so hard for us?! If anyone can lend me a helpful hint as to where I can find this popular bag, let me know!

Spotted: GG takes US

Like most college girls, I am OBSESSED with Gossip Girl. I watch every Monday, anticipating the new outfits Serena, Blair and lately, even little J will be wearing. Recently, these trends have been showing up in stores, allowing shoppers to channel their inner Upper East sider. Everywhere from Bendels to Forver 21 has a Gossip Girl inspired collection. One of my favs are brightly colored tights paired with a contrasting shoe. I can picture J sitting on the steps of Constance, rocking neon purple tights with funky yellow stilettos. At Forever 21 they have double breasted business jackets I have appropriately dubbed "Serena jackets." I would mesh right in the halls of their elite private school with my white piped navy blazer, accented by gold buttons and a gold crest, of course. And O-M-F-G what about Blair's headbands? Everyone from the preppy schoolgirl to the hair-braided hippy can pull off this trend.
You know you love me XOXO,
Gossip Girl

Sassy Shoes
One trend I have noticed this season is the fun eclectic shoes. Celebrities, runway models and college students have been sporting everything from fringe boots to strappy heels. A new trend on the red carpet is celebrities pairing couture dresses with elaborate shoes. Victoria Beckham always seems to style ferocious sky-high heels. She can pull off anything from spiked stilettos to thigh-high boots.

Mahalo For Removing Your Slippers
I do not want to leave this exciting place! We leave bright and early on Sat. so we have been soaking in every last second of the sun! It has been a while since I have updated so I will give ya'll a little synopsis of the past few weeks! I WENT SKYDIVING!!!!!!! Yes, I jumped 14,000 ft from an airplane and free-falled for exactly one minute while enjoying the wonderful view of the North Shore. I was feeling extra adventurous that week and went swimming with sharks as well! We went 3 miles off the coast of the North Shore and were submerged in a tank! About 15-20 sharks surrounded the cage as the captain threw sardines into the water! It was soooo cool! The sharks swam right up to me! If I would have stuck my hang out of the cage (which was a big no no) i could have petted the big guys! My mom was also here for about a week which was very very fun! Thanks for coming mom, hope ya had a great time! She got to experience our normal day of basking at Waikiki, and I think she loved it! We did some great shopping and I got to take a break from the oh so delicious caf! Jenny also came and stayed for 11 days! She moved right into Cait and I's tiny room, but it was so much fun! We finally hiked Diamond Head which was a must do for the trip! It was a great view once we got there, but I was a bit tired and not too peppy for the hundreds of stairs we climbed! We took Jenny and my mom to Kailula Beach which was very relaxing. The beach was gorg and they loved it! We also went snorkeling to the North Shore while J Bell was here. The snorkeling wasn't too great, but we got to see all the fascinating sights that the infamous North Shore has to offer (Pipeline anyone?). We spent Sat. morn at Pearl Harbor exploring the museum and going on the tour of the USS Atlantic. I was not expecting this to be so moving, but it was so sad listening to the many people that lost their lives that day. My class ends tomorrow which is a bit of a relief. I prob should be studying right now, but am not too worried about the final. Although I will be relieved to sleep past 8:30 every morn I will miss this class. It was very interesting and I feel so much more knowledgeable about other cultures now!
I also went mopeding the other week! While I am def not the best driver it was so much fun getting to zip along the streets of Honolulu! Not having to wait for THEBUS was such a relief! I did have a minor run-in with a curb (I'm no expert at turning those things) but thankfully the scary moped renter guy didn't notice the busted head light! Ash and I went to LuLu's last Fri and had a blast! I swear the girl to guy ratio was like 10:1 and all the guys were so attractive! We danced it up with some British guys and met lots of people! For the time being I have replace my espanol lingo w the small Hawaiin vocab I have learned. In regards to my post title, slippers are mainlanders form of flip flops! Everyone around here calls them that and I have decided to incorporate this into my daily vocab! But I think I should resume my studying...boo! But I hope everyone is having a super duper summer! Cant wait to see everyone when I return home!!!
